Oklahoma has three classes of Commercial Driver’s License along with several different endorsements.

This manual provides driver license testing information for drivers who wish to have a commercial driver license. This manual does NOT provide information on all the federal and state requirements.
Once you have successfully completed all necessary written tests for the type of license you are trying to obtain, you will be issued paperwork to take to our tag office to print a CDL permit
To complete the CDL skills test, You will be required to complete a Pre-Trip inspection, the Basic Control Skills tests (backing maneuvers), and a road test.
CDL’s can be renewed, updated and downgraded at tag agencies. You will need to show an additional proof of residency besides your license if you are renewing or updating a CDL. The process often needs Service Oklahoma overrides so two trips to the tag agency may be necessary. Adding new endorsements must be done at a main Service Oklahoma location. Commercial learner’s permits can be renewed one time for a total licensed time of one year.

Endorsed to transport hazardous materials.
Endorsement X
Endorsed to transport combination hazardous materials and tank vehicles.
Restriction K
CDL Intrastate only - Cannot leave the state of Oklahoma with CDL vehicles.
Restriction L
Restricted to CDL vehicles without air brakes.
